2026年9月18日（金）から9月28日（月）まで、gallery fumotoにて、黒谷和紙作家ハタノワタルとスピーカーブランド listudeによるコラボレーション企画展「HOME」を開催いたします。

京都府綾部市を拠点に、黒谷和紙の紙漉きをはじめ、和紙を使った作品や空間の制作など、幅広く活動するハタノワタルさん。自然の中で育まれた素材と向き合いながら、和紙の持つ質感や表情を生かし、暮らしの中に新たな風景をつくり出しています。

一方、山梨県北杜市を拠点とするlistudeは、「聴く」という行為に向き合いながら、音楽をより豊かに感じるためのスピーカーや、音を楽しむための空間をつくっています。

本展では、ハタノワタルさんによる和紙の作品をご紹介するとともに、両者の協働から生まれた14面体無指向性スピーカー「sight ハタノワタル特注和紙仕上げ」を展示いたします。

2022年に生まれたこの特別な「sight」。listudeが設計・製作する14面体の筐体に、和紙の素材を重ねることで生まれる独特の表情と、14面体から空間へ自然に広がる音を併せ持つ、二つの仕事が響き合うことで生まれたスピーカーです。

和紙という素材を通して空間をつくるハタノさんと、音を通して空間をつくるlistude。

異なる素材と技術を持つ二者が、それぞれの視点から「暮らしの中にある空間」を見つめることで生まれた今回のコラボレーション。作品を眺め、触れ、そして音に耳を澄ますことで、ものと空間、そして聴くことの新しい関係を感じていただければと思います。

「HOME」という言葉が示すように、そこに置かれるもの、流れる音、過ごす時間によって、私たちが暮らす空間は少しずつその表情を変えていきます。ハタノワタルさんの作品と、listudeとの協働によって生まれた「sight」。ぜひ会場で、素材と音がつくり出す新たな空間をお楽しみください。

From Friday, September 18 to Monday, September 28, 2026, gallery fumoto will present “HOME,” a collaborative exhibition featuring Kurotani washi artist Wataru Hatano and speaker brand listude.

Based in Ayabe City, Kyoto Prefecture, Wataru Hatano works across a wide range of fields, from hand-making Kurotani washi to creating works and spaces using traditional Japanese paper. By engaging closely with materials nurtured in nature and drawing out the texture and character of washi, he creates new landscapes within everyday life.

Based in Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture, listude creates speakers designed to enrich the experience of listening to music, as well as spaces in which sound can be enjoyed, through a deep engagement with the act of “listening.”

The exhibition will feature works in washi by Wataru Hatano, together with the “sight Wataru Hatano Custom Washi Finish,” a 14-sided omnidirectional speaker created through the collaboration of Hatano and listude.

First created in 2022, this special edition of “sight” combines the distinctive character created by layering washi onto listude’s 14-sided speaker enclosure with sound that naturally radiates throughout a space from its polyhedral form. It is a speaker born from the resonance of two distinct practices.

Hatano creates spaces through the material of washi, while listude creates spaces through sound. By looking at the spaces we inhabit from their respective perspectives, this collaboration brings together two different materials and techniques to explore the idea of “space within everyday life.”

We hope that by looking at and touching the works, and by taking a moment to listen closely to the sound, you will discover new relationships between objects, space, and the act of listening.

As suggested by the word “HOME,” the character of the spaces we inhabit gradually changes through the objects placed within them, the sounds that fill them, and the time we spend there.

We invite you to visit the exhibition and experience the new space created through the interplay of materials and sound, brought to life by Wataru Hatano and his collaboration with listude.

HOME

家には、光があり、音があり、そこに暮らす人の時間があります。

朝の光、夕暮れに灯る明かり。

好きな音楽を聴きながら過ごす時間。

食卓を囲み、3時のおやつを楽しむ時間。

何気ない日々の積み重ねが、少しずつその場所を「HOME」にしていくのだと思います。

今回の展覧会では、「HOME」をテーマに、暮らしの中にあるものと、それらがつくる時間を考えます。

中心となるのは、家のかたちをした照明器具と、山梨のlistudeさんのスピーカーとのコラボレーションです。

私は自身の工房でも、listudeのスピーカーを8台使っています。

音の質もさることながら、そこに置かれている姿そのものが美しく、インテリアとして空間に馴染みながら、流れる音と共に心地よい時間を運んでくれます。

今回は特別に、和紙を貼ったlistudeのスピーカーをコラボ制作しました。和紙という素材が、音とどのように響き合い、空間の中でどんな存在になるのか。ぜひ実際に見て、聴いて、感じていただければと思います。

そのほかにも、「HOME」というテーマから生まれた絵画や、3時のおやつの時間に大活躍する紙漉キハタノの敷板、暮らしの中の整理や収納に便利な箱など、日々の生活に寄り添うものを展示します。

作品として見るもの。使うことで美しくなるもの。音や光のように、形を持たずに心に残るもの。

それぞれが重なり合うことで、ひとつの空間が生まれていきます。

特別なものだけでつくられた空間ではなく、日々の暮らしの中にある小さな美しさ。

灯りがともり、音が流れ、そこにお気に入りのものがある。

そんな時間を、今回の「HOME」で感じていただけたらと思います。

HOME

A home has light, sound, and the time shared by the people who live there.

The morning light.The glow of lamps at dusk.

Time spent listening to your favorite music.

Time gathered around the dining table, enjoying an afternoon snack.

I believe that the accumulation of these seemingly ordinary moments gradually transforms a place into a “HOME.”

For this exhibition, I have chosen “HOME” as the theme, reflecting on the objects that surround us in everyday life and the moments they create.

At the heart of the exhibition is a collaboration between a house-shaped light and speakers by listude, based in Yamanashi.

I use eight listude speakers in my own studio. Beyond the quality of their sound, I find the speakers themselves beautiful objects. They naturally blend into the interior while bringing a sense of comfort and richness to the space through the music they play.

For this exhibition, we have specially created a collaborative edition of the listude speaker finished with washi. I hope you will take the opportunity to see, hear, and experience how washi as a material resonates with sound and what kind of presence it creates within a space.

In addition, the exhibition will feature paintings inspired by the theme of “HOME,” wooden boards made by Paper Artist Hatano that are perfect for serving afternoon snacks, and boxes that are useful for organizing and storing things in everyday life.

Some things are meant to be appreciated as works of art.Some become more beautiful through use.Others, like light and sound, have no physical form yet leave a lasting impression on the heart.

As these elements come together, a space gradually takes shape.

Not a space created solely from special objects, but one filled with the small beauties found in everyday life.

A light is switched on.Music begins to play.A favorite object sits nearby.

ハタノワタルさんに、私たちの14面体スピーカー “sight” の仕上げをお願いしたのは2022年のことでした。

京都・綾部にある工房を訪ね、ハタノさんが漉く黒谷和紙や、和紙を用いたさまざまな仕事に触れる中で、私たちのスピーカーを和紙で仕上げていただくことになりました。

ハタノさんにとっても、スピーカーに和紙を施すのは初めての試みだったそうです。完成した “sight” は、普段私たちが木で仕上げているスピーカーとはまた違った佇まいを持つものになりました。

光を柔らかく含む和紙の質感によって、音響機器というよりも、空間の中に静かに置かれるひとつのものとして存在しているように感じます。

音も和紙も、それ自体だけで完結するものではなく、光や空気、空間、人との関係によってその表情が変化していきます。

2026年春、東京で開催されたハタノさんの個展「ひかり」では、この和紙仕上げの “sight” が展示空間に置かれ、音のインスタレーションを担いました。

作品の間に並ぶ姿は、設備というよりもひとつの工芸品のようで、私たちにとってもスピーカーという存在をあらためて考える機会となりました。

今回、軽井沢で再びハタノさんの作品と同じ空間にこのスピーカーを置けることを、とてもうれしく思っています。和

紙の表情と、そこから広がる音。その両方を、軽井沢の光や空気とともに感じていただければと思います。

It was in 2022 that we first asked Wataru Hatano to finish our 14-sided speaker, “sight.”

During a visit to his studio in Ayabe, Kyoto, we had the opportunity to experience the Kurotani washi that Hatano makes by hand, as well as his various works incorporating washi. This led to our collaboration, in which he finished our speaker with washi.

For Hatano, applying washi to a speaker was also a new endeavor. The completed “sight” came to have a presence quite different from our speakers, which are usually finished in wood.

The soft, light-catching texture of washi gives the speaker a quiet presence in a space, making it feel less like a piece of audio equipment and more like an object that simply belongs there.

Neither sound nor washi exists in isolation. Their character changes through their relationship with light, air, space, and the people who experience them.

In spring 2026, at Hatano’s solo exhibition “Hikari” in Tokyo, this washi-finished “sight” was placed within the exhibition space and served as part of a sound installation.

Standing among the artworks, the speaker felt less like equipment and more like a piece of craft. For us, it was also an opportunity to reconsider what a speaker can be.

We are very happy to have the opportunity to place this speaker once again in the same space as Hatano’s works, this time in Karuizawa.

We hope you will experience both the expressions of the washi and the sound that spreads from it, together with the light and atmosphere of Karuizawa.

ハタノワタル | 黒谷和紙作家

1997年より800年続く黒谷和紙にて修行を開始。2000年黒谷和紙漉き師として独立。住居を過疎化の進む村の築100年の古民家に移し、古来より続いてきた暮らしの中で持続可能な社会を探る。日本が持っていた価値観を身をもって学び、表現につなげる。2018年自宅に紙漉きの工房を立ち上げ、紙漉きから空間施工、プロダクト、アートを一貫して行う。2024年、紙漉キハタノを立ち上げ、現在の紙漉きを未来へ繋げる活動を行う。黒谷和紙協同組合所属、京もの認定工芸士。国内外で多くの展覧会、施工の実績をもつ。

Wataru Hatano | Kurotani Washi Artist

In 1997, Hatano began training in Kurotani washi, a traditional papermaking craft with a history spanning more than 800 years. In 2000, he became an independent Kurotani washi papermaker.

He moved his home to a 100-year-old traditional house in a depopulating village, where he explores the possibilities of a sustainable society through a way of life rooted in longstanding local traditions. By experiencing and learning firsthand from values once held in Japan, he connects these insights to his creative practice.

In 2018, he established a papermaking studio at his home, developing a comprehensive practice that spans papermaking, spatial installations, product design, and art.

In 2024, he founded Kami-suki Hatano, an initiative dedicated to carrying the tradition of papermaking into the future.

He is a member of the Kurotani Washi Cooperative Association and a certified Kyo-mono Master Craftsman. He has an extensive record of exhibitions and spatial projects both in Japan and internationally.

listude（リスチュード）｜スピーカーブランド

「listen＝聴く」と「attitude＝態度・姿勢」を組み合わせた名を持つ、音響ブランド。2007年に活動を開始し、多面体構造を特徴とする無指向性スピーカーの設計・製作を行う。音を一点から届けるのではなく、空間全体へ自然にひらくことを大切にし、プロダクトの製作に加えて、音楽イベントや音響インスタレーションなど「聴く場」そのものをつくる活動にも取り組んでいる。2025年、奈良から山梨県北杜市の森へ拠点を移し、スピーカーの製作とともに、自然・建築・音楽が交わる新たな音楽空間づくりを進めている。

listude | Speaker Brand

listude is an audio brand whose name combines “listen” and “attitude,” expressing a thoughtful approach to the act of listening.

Founded in 2007, the brand designs and produces omnidirectional speakers characterized by their distinctive polyhedral structures. Rather than projecting sound from a single point, listude places importance on allowing sound to open naturally into the entire space.

In addition to creating speakers, listude is also involved in creating the “places for listening” themselves, through music events, sound installations, and other projects.

In 2025, listude relocated its base from Nara to a forest in Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture. Alongside speaker production, the brand is now developing new spaces for music where nature, architecture, and sound come together.
