2026年2月27日（金）から3月9日（月）まで、KAMAKURA meetにて、結桶師・川又栄風（桶栄）による企画展「木工の仕事」を開催いたします。 東京・深川にて明治20年（1887）に創業した桶栄は、東京で唯一残る江戸結桶店です。江戸以来の技を受け継ぎ、洋白銀の箍を用いた端正な桶づくりを今に伝えています。 本展では、江戸櫃をはじめとする桶や器などのテーブルウェアを中心にご紹介いたします。受け継がれてきた確かな手仕事と、今の暮らしに寄り添う木の仕事をぜひご覧ください。

Okeei – Yuiokeshi Eifu Kawamata Exhibition
From Friday, 27 February to Monday, 9 March 2026, KAMAKURA meet will present The Work of Woodcraft, an exhibition by master cooper Eifu Kawamata (Okeei).
Founded in 1887 in Fukagawa, Tokyo, Okeei is the only remaining Edo-style cooperage in the city. Carrying forward techniques passed down since the Edo period, the workshop continues to produce finely crafted buckets distinguished by their clean forms and nickel-silver hoops.
The exhibition will feature Edo-style rice chests, a variety of buckets and vessels, and tableware suited to spring hospitality. We invite you to experience the enduring craftsmanship and woodwork that continues to accompany contemporary life.

700年余の歴史ある“江戸結桶技法”。
木の合わせ目だけで、水をも漏らさない緻密な技法です。ゆっくりと時間をかけて70工程の作業をしていくことで、高樹齢国有林木の持つ素材の魅力を、そのまま生かすことができます。
本展では、春のおもてなしにお使いいただけるテーブルウエアや、特別企画品などをご用意しました。在廊日には、本展にてご購入いただいた作品に関するお誂え・メンテナンスのご相談を承ります
川又栄風
The Edo Yuioke method, a traditional Japanese cooperage technique, has been practiced for over 700 years.
It is a method in which wooden staves are joined with such precision that not a single drop of water escapes. Through approximately seventy carefully executed steps, I seek to preserve the natural character of old-growth timber from Japan’s national forests in its pure form.
For this exhibition, I have prepared tableware suited to spring hospitality, along with specially commissioned works. On the days I am present, I will be pleased to offer guidance on the care and maintenance of any works purchased at the exhibition.

作品の数々は、国内外の美術館・ギャラリーでのデザイン展、企画展に招聘されている。
