【軽井沢｜gallery fumoto】陶芸家清水善行展開催のお知らせ

2026年9月3日（木）から9月14日（月）まで、gallery fumotoにて、京都府南山城村・童仙房を拠点に活動する陶芸家・清水善行展を開催いたします。

京都府南山城村・童仙房。豊かな自然に囲まれた土地で、土を掘り、薪を割り、自ら築いた薪窯で器を焼くなど、土地と素材に向き合いながら作陶を続ける清水さん。作品には、土そのものが持つ表情や、焼成による色の変化、薪窯の炎によって生まれるさまざまな景色が静かに刻まれています。

土と火、そして人の手が重なり合うことで生まれる作品には、素材そのものの力強さと、どこかあたたかな佇まいが感じられ、私たちの暮らしに静かに寄り添ってくれます。

本企画展では、酒器を中心に、花器や茶器など、日々の暮らしの中で楽しんでいただける器をご紹介いたします。

手に取り、使うことで感じられるその質感や、薪窯ならではの表情を、ぜひこの機会に手に取りお楽しみくださいませ。

From Thursday, September 3, 2026 to Monday, September 14, 2026, gallery fumoto will present an exhibition by ceramic artist Yoshiyuki Shimizu, based in Dosenbo, Minamiyamashiro Village, Kyoto Prefecture.

In Dosenbo, surrounded by abundant nature, Mr. Shimizu continues his practice by engaging closely with the land and its materials—digging clay from the earth, splitting firewood, and firing his vessels in a wood-fired kiln that he built himself. His works quietly capture the natural character of the clay, subtle changes in color created through firing, and the diverse expressions brought forth by the flames of the wood-fired kiln.

Born from the interplay of earth, fire, and the human hand, his works possess both the inherent strength of the materials and a gentle, warm presence that quietly complements everyday life.

For this exhibition, we will present vessels intended to be enjoyed in daily life, including primarily sakeware, as well as flower vessels and tea ware.

We invite you to pick up and experience these works firsthand, discovering their tactile qualities and the distinctive expressions created by the wood-fired kiln.

この度はギャラリーフモトさんにおきまして、初出展となります。ご縁に感謝いたします。

見た目の印象は地味な焼き物ですが、使うほどに暮らしに寄り添うものになっていくことを願っております。

This will be my first exhibition at Gallery Fumoto, and I am deeply grateful for this opportunity and connection.

My pottery may appear modest and understated at first glance, but I hope that, through continued use, each piece will gradually become a familiar and cherished part of your everyday life.

【作家プロフィール】

清水善行｜陶芸家

1966年熊本県生まれ。1990年大谷大学文学部哲学科卒業。1991年京都府立陶工高等技術専門学校を卒業後、黒牟田焼・丸田正美窯にて修行。1994年、京都府南山城村童仙房に独立し、地上式穴窯を築窯。以降、信楽、粉引、白磁、須恵、鉄釉、土器、灰釉など、さまざまな焼きものに取り組む。2008年に地下式穴窯、2021年には割竹式登り窯を築窯。現在も童仙房の土地と素材に向き合いながら作陶を続けている。

Yoshiyuki Shimizu | Ceramic Artist

Born in Kumamoto Prefecture in 1966. In 1990, he graduated from the Department of Philosophy, Faculty of Letters at Otani University.

After graduating from the Kyoto Prefectural College of Ceramics in 1991, he trained at the Maruta Masami kiln of Kuromuta ware. In 1994, he established his own studio in Dosenbo, Minamiyamashiro Village, Kyoto Prefecture, where he built an above-ground anagama wood-fired kiln.

Since then, he has explored a wide range of ceramic traditions and techniques, including Shigaraki ware, kohiki, white porcelain, Sue ware, iron glaze, earthenware, and ash glaze.

In 2008, he built an underground anagama kiln, followed by a split-bamboo-style climbing kiln in 2021. He continues to create pottery in Dosenbo, working closely with the land and the materials found there.
