【KAMAKURA meet】 クラフト作家 上原かなえ展「麦わらの祈り ― Forms of Light HIMMELI – Light, structure, patterns」開催のお知らせ

2025年12月12日（金）から12月22日（月）まで、KAMAKURA meet にて、クラフト作家 上原かなえによる個展「麦わらの祈り ― Forms of Light HIMMELI – Light, structure, patterns」を開催いたします。 長野県御代田町を拠点に活動する上原かなえは、自らライ麦を育て、その麦藁を素材に、北欧の伝統装飾「ヒンメリ」を制作しています。幾何学的な立体に仕立てられた藁のモビールは、空間に静かに浮かび、時の流れに柔らかなゆらぎを添えてくれます。「ヒンメリ」は、北欧ではホリデーシーズンの装飾として古くから親しまれ、幸運や豊穣を願う縁起物として大切にされてきました。 本企画展では、作家が一つひとつ手作業で組み上げた麦藁のヒンメリやオーナメントをご紹介いたします。天然素材と幾何学の造形物が織りなす穏やかな世界観をお楽しみください。 皆さまのご来場を心よりお待ちしております。 KAMAKURA meet | Craft Artist Kanae Uehara Exhibition "Prayers of Straw — Forms of Light HIMMELI – Light, Structure, Patterns" We are pleased to announce a solo exhibition by craft artist Kanae Uehara, to be held from Friday, December 12 to Monday, December 22, 2025, at KAMAKURA meet in Kamakura, Kanagawa.

Based in Miyota, Nagano Prefecture, Uehara grows her own rye and uses the straw to create himmeli—traditional Nordic ornaments. These geometric mobiles, meticulously hand-assembled from natural straw, gently float in space, adding a soft, meditative rhythm to the flow of time. In Scandinavia, himmeli have long been cherished as festive decorations during the holiday season, symbolizing good fortune and bountiful harvests.

This exhibition features a selection of Uehara’s himmeli works and ornament sets, each crafted with great care. We invite you to immerse yourself in the quiet, graceful world woven from natural materials and geometric beauty.

やさしく彩る小さな灯りとなりますように。 After completing my exhibition in Helsinki this September, a form of prayer has crossed the sea and returned once again to the foot of Mt. Asama.

The rye grown in Miyota is breathing once more in the light of autumn.

Seasons turn, and light takes on a new form.

Each piece, born from the cycle of nature, is a small light—gentle and warm— to quietly illuminate the coming holiday season.

上原かなえ | クラフト作家

長野県御代田町在住。 フィンランドから繋ぐライ麦を自ら育て、その麦わらを素材に北欧の伝統装飾「ヒンメリ」を制作。自然の循環と祈りのかたちを見つめながら、幾何学と手工芸の調和を探求している。
