2026年1月23日（金）から2月9日（月）まで、KAMAKURA meetにて、御所人形作家・島田耕園による個展「はんなりおひなさん」を開催いたします。

やわらかな表情と上品な佇まいで人々を魅了する、島田耕園の雛人形。春の訪れを待ちながら、あたたかなぬくもりと雅やかな華やぎをまとったおひなさまたちに、心ほころぶひとときをお過ごしください。

皆様のご来場を、心よりお待ち申し上げております。 Shimada Kōen Goshō Doll Exhibition “Hannari Ohina-san”

We are pleased to announce a solo exhibition featuring Goshō doll artist Shimada Kōen, based in Kyoto. The exhibition will take place from Friday, January 23 to Monday, February 2, 2026, at KAMAKURA meet.

Renowned for his dolls’ gentle expressions and refined presence, Shimada Kōen creates hina that embody warmth, grace, and quiet elegance. As we await the arrival of spring, we invite you to enjoy a heartwarming moment with these charming ohina-san, adorned with a soft glow and elegant splendor.

[ Message from the Artist ] 「はんなり」

優美、上品ではなやかな感じがするさまをいいます。京都のおひなさんは「はんなり」しています。

「おひなさん」

京都で「さん」をつける習慣は、御所言葉に由来しています。敬意や親しみを込めて「さん」を付けるのが特徴で、温かい響きが京ことばの文化として根付いています。「お雛様」を、「おひなさん」と言います。

「上巳」

五節句の一つ。陰暦三月三日の桃の節句のことを「上巳(じょうし)」「ひな祭り」ともよび、邪気を払うとされた桃の花やひな人形を飾るほか、ごちそうを用意し、女の子の成長と幸せを願います。

上巳の節句飾りの全てに、女児の健康と幸せを願う想いが込められています。 “Hannari” Hannari describes a sense of graceful, refined, and softly radiant beauty. Hina dolls from Kyoto are often said to have this distinctly hannari quality.

“Ohina-san” In Kyoto, it is customary to add -san as an honorific, a practice rooted in the language of the Imperial Court. This reflects both respect and affection, giving rise to the warm tone characteristic of Kyoto speech. Thus, Ohina-sama are affectionately called Ohina-san.

“Jōshi” One of the Five Seasonal Festivals, Jōshi refers to the Peach Festival held on the third day of the third month of the lunar calendar, also known as Hinamatsuri. During this festival, peach blossoms and hina dolls are displayed, special foods are prepared, and prayers are offered for the healthy growth and happiness of young girls. Every element of the Jōshi festival decorations carries heartfelt wishes for a child’s well-being and future happiness.

島田耕園 | 御所人形作家

1958 年御所人形作家四世島田耕園の長男として生まれる

1980 年同志社大学法学部卒業人形制作を始める

1987 年日本工芸会正会員認定

1991 年五世耕園を襲名

2018 年「ルイ・ヴィトンスペシャルオーダー雛人形トランク」をコラボレーション制作

2019 年工房制作１６０年記念展を開催

日本工芸会正会員・京都工芸美術作家協会会員

Shimada Kōen | Goshō Doll Artist

Born in 1958 as the eldest son of the fourth-generation Goshō doll artist Shimada Kōen 1980: Graduated from the Faculty of Law, Doshisha University; began doll-making 1987: Certified as a full member of the Japan Kōgei Association 1991: Succeeded to the name of the fifth-generation Kōen 2018: Collaborated on the Louis Vuitton Special Order Hina Doll Trunk 2019: Held an exhibition commemorating the 160th anniversary of the studio Member of the Japan Kōgei Association Member of the Kyoto Arts and Crafts Association
