We are pleased to announce that gallery fumoto in Miyota, Nagano, will host a solo exhibition by lacquerware artist Hiroaki Yazawa from Friday, October 10 to Monday, October 20, 2025.
This exhibition features a collection of vessels that seamlessly blend into everyday life, expressing the profound richness of lacquer and wood, alongside Yazawa’s distinctive sense of form.Rooted in traditional craftsmanship yet radiating a refined presence, his works embody a thoughtful aesthetic—cradled in the hand—and evoke the quiet strength of craft that breathes within the rhythms of daily life.

[ About the Artist ]
矢澤寛彰 | 漆器作家 古いモノなどを参考にしながら、素材の質感や手触り、手仕事の作業の痕跡、モノとしての佇まいなどを大切に、意識しながら制作しています。
1977年 神奈川県鎌倉市に生まれる。
2000年 東京工芸大学芸術学部映像学科卒業。
2001年 父、矢沢光広のもとで漆の技術を学び始める。
2009年 「うつわ祥見」にて初個展。
以降、個展や企画展で作品を発表。
現在に至る。
Hiroaki Yazawa | Lacquerware Artist
Inspired by antique forms and everyday objects, Yazawa creates works that honor the tactile qualities of natural materials and the subtle traces of handwork, valuing the quiet presence of each object.
Born in Kamakura, Kanagawa in 1977. Graduated from the Department of Imaging Arts, Tokyo Polytechnic University in 2000. Began training in lacquerware under his father, Mitsuhiro Yazawa, in 2001. Held his first solo exhibition at Utsuwa Shoken in 2009.Since then, he has continued to exhibit in solo and group shows across Japan. [ Exhibition Details ]
